Start with your route’s real journey time

Every airport route page lists a realistic journey time range for that specific corridor — use that, not a generic “airport bus” estimate. A bus from Electronic City or Whitefield can easily take over 90 minutes in traffic, while a closer route from Hebbala or HAL may be under an hour.

Add a traffic buffer

Bangalore traffic is heavily time-of-day dependent. If your bus window falls in the morning (8-10:30am) or evening (5:30-8:30pm) peak, add 30-45 minutes on top of the listed journey time as a buffer — these buses run on fixed timetables and don’t skip traffic. Late-night and early-morning departures are far more predictable.
